Sakhisizwe Development Care Centre

The Sakhisizwe Development Care Centre provides care to the elderly and disabled within their community.

It was started in 2012 when Ntombi Ntuli, the current Centre Manager, was looking for a place in the community who could look after her frail and elderly father. After searching high and low she was unable to find a place for him, so she decided to start her own centre that could help people like her father.

Sakhisizwe provides a home to twenty-one people while also looking after fifteen day visitors.

They provide meals for those in their care, and also have a garden on site that helps ease the financial burden of cooking on a daily basis.

Team members from Hollywoodbets Argyle visited the centre on the 30th of June 2017 to hand deliver a stove, new mattresses, a photocopier and chairs.

"This donation from Hollywoodbets is helping me a lot."

"So far we've only got a few donations of food from other companies but we really needed a stove because I only had a 2 plate stove to cook all of my meals."

"The mattresses we used were also wearing thin so these new ones will help our patients to be more comfortable. Thank you Hollywoodbets," said Ntombi Ntuli.

Blessing Sibusiso Biyela from Hollywoodbets Argyle lives in the area and chose to support this particular centre because he visited them and saw how much help was needed.

The local Ward Councillor Happy Mkhize also came to join in the celebrations on the day and thanked Hollywoodbets for the good work they are doing in the community.
