Western Cape
Hollywoodbets Langa
Rape Crisis Cape Town Trust

Established in 1976, the centre has been assisting rape survivors for the past 41 years. It is the oldest organisation in South Africa of its kind.

The team works towards promoting an end to violence against women. Three programmes are offered at the centre:

The Road to Justice
Court support is offered and people are encouraged to report rape. Survivors are also educated about the justice system.

The Road to Recovery
Counselling is offered and psychological healing is promoted by getting people to speak about their experiences.

Making Change
This programme is aimed at helping communities find ways to prevent rape. This involved peer education, training and development and encouraging dialogue around the issue of rape.

The Langa team supported the staff's good work by donating an electric stove and fridge to these hard workers.

Communications Coordinator Zeenat Hendricks is grateful for the help.

"The donation from Hollywoodbets came at a really good time as our Observatory office fridge was starting to give issues and the Khayelitsha office was in need of a stove as their previous one was broken as well - perfect timing!" she said.
