Bethesda Medical and Relief Services

Bethesda Medical and Relief Services first opened 16 years ago.

The organisation cares for their community through their three main divisions. Bethesda has a Child and Youth Care Centre (CYCC), an Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) and a Home Community Based Care Programme (HCBC).

Through the CYCC vulnerable children are provided with 24-hour care.

These kids are given the chance to develop on an emotional, spiritual, social, physical and intellectual level.

The ICF has 36 beds, including eight for children, and provides in-patient and out-patient care to community members on a daily basis.

A large percentage of the patients cared for are children and many patients are living with HIV/AIDS or cancer.

HCBC does over 5 000 interventions per month where patients are cared for by taking a holistic approach and medical, rehabilitative, psychological and spiritual services are provided.

There is also a wheelchair repair workshop on site which focusses on repairing government-issued wheelchairs, making them usable again.

Hollywoodbets Boulevard decided to support this worthy charity for the 4th year by donating some raincoats and backpacks to the staff members.

Marzanne CilliĆ©, Projects Manager, thanked the company for their continued support.

"Providing these items that we needed to each carer will make their already difficult job so much easier and more convenient."

"They work in harsh circumstances yet their priority still remains Care and Excellent Service delivery to the patients."

"The Community Health Workers are faced with the challenge of working in very uncomfortable circumstances and areas in the community, to thus be equipped with the necessary items not only makes it more comfortable for them, but also ensures complete and effective care and service for our patients who live in these circumstances every day."

"You are investing in helping to give others quality care."

"The goal we wish to achieve with this project, with your kind assistance, is to provide our Carers with protective and comfortable accessories making their lives a little better while delivering a much-needed service to our patients in their homes."

"We cannot work towards this goal on our own and are thus dependent on support from all community members and partners like Hollywoodbets to assist us and help us achieve our vision," she said.
