The organisation helps children through early childhood development, youth development and by working on strengthening the child protection systems within the communities they operate in.

They run six different ECD centres in Port Elizabeth's Northern Areas and first opened their doors in 1917.

The centres are exposed to vandalism because of the prevalence of gang-related activities and substance abuse in the areas.

Hollywoodbets Newton Park team members visited the centre in St Adams Drive in Gelvandale and delivered some educational toys to the staff.

The donation included fantasy play costumes, building blocks, string and threading blocks, puzzles, rope ladders, paints, playdough, counting charts, aprons and various toys to play with outside like balls.

Programme Manager Sinta Reynolds thanked the Hollywoodbets team for their contribution.

"It is a daily challenge to provide quality education with the limited resources we have.

The donation enables us to provide better early childhood development and to make education fun.

Education is our key against poverty.

Education empowers communities and develops future leaders of our country," she said.
