Hollywoodbets Nelspruit supported the DASHA Foundation as part of the Hollywoodbets Social Responsibility Programme. Learn more about their donation here.Mpumalanga
DASHA Foundation first opened their doors in 1995 and has grown from a school with just three pupils to an organisation with three different facilities including a stimulation centre, a school and a protective workshop.
DASHA currently educates 47 children while also providing a workshop where natural skills like sewing, beading, baking and knitting are developed. The goal is to help teach the attendees skills that they can use to support themselves or to secure outside jobs.
On the 8th of November 2016 team members from Hollywoodbets Nelspruit visited the foundation to deliver a donation of T-shirts in time for the school's upcoming 21st birthday; a printer for the office; and drums that will be used for music group and music therapy.
This was the Nelspruit team's first donation to DASHA and forms part of the Hollywoodbets Social Responsibility Programme.
Shirley Parsons, the Principal of the school thanked the Nelspruit team for their support:
"This donation means a lot to us because we rely heavily on community support. The T-shirts are for a special function to celebrate the school's 21st birthday, and the children will also be allowed to wear them to school every Friday when we allow them to wear T-shirts from past concerts instead of their usual school uniforms. The printer and drums will also be put to good use, We would like to thank Hollywoodbets Nelspruit as well as the company's management for this donation."
Well done team Neslpruit for supporting such a worthy initiative and investing in these children!
