Hollywoodbets Estcourt chose the Bhekuzulu Self Sufficient Project as their organisation of choice for Hollywood's Social Responsibility program for 2016.

This organisation provides holistic, community centred services for people infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. Through various projects and campaigns at the grassroots level, Bhekuzulu Self Sufficient Project is promoting health and dignity for all.

On the 7th of October our Hollywoodbets Estcourt team members visited Bhekuzulu Self Sufficient Project to deliver a gate and some garden tools.

Staff members at the organisation were thrilled as they needed the gate to help limit access to their vegetable garden.

They use the vegetable garden to feed many community members in this rural area.

Well done to the Hollywoodbets Estcourt team for getting involved with this brilliant project!

Hollywoodbets Thohoyandou joined forces with the Thulamela Municipality and visited Tshikodwe crèche to celebrate Nelson Mandela Day.

Team members from Thohoyandou honoured the late Nelson Mandela's memory on his birthday by making their way to Tshikodwe crèche in Tshidimbini village. Here they worked with Thulamela municipality officials, including the mayor, to officially open a community crèche.

Hollywoodbets donated paint and food parcels to the children at the crèche. Everyone also got their hands dirty and helped give the building a brand new coat of paint. It is now pretty in purple and the staff, and children are very happy about their newly revamped building!

Hollywoodbets Marble Hall chose Leeufontein Community Centre as their organisation of choice for Hollywoodbets' Social Responsibility Programme. The team talks about their visit.

The Leeufontein Community Service Centre for the aged and disabled welcomed us with love and care. Looking at the aged and disabled we know we have touched their hearts dearly. One of the old women cried when we gave her a blanket.

We replaced their tears with laughter and joy. We gave a television, blankets, cutlery, fan, t-shirts, pots, paid the TV licence and got groceries. One pensioner stood and said a speech to thank us, “We are very much happy for what Hollywood has done for us. It is the first time we have received gifts from any company." Hollywoodbets Marble Hall would like to thank management for allowing us to help the aged and disabled.

Hollywoodbets Korsten chose Association for Persons with Physical Disabilities as their organisation of choice for Hollywoodbets' Social Responsibility Programme. The team talks about their visit.

This year the Korsten team decided to offer their support to a new charity and helped make a difference in the lives of two people who are living with mobility impairments. The Korsten team decided to donate two wheelchairs to the Association for Persons with Physical Disabilities (APD).

Overall it was an exciting and moving experience and was by far one of the most memorable charity donations that the Korsten team had ever been involved with. It started off when the team participated in the Wheelchair Wednesday challenge, which is all about educating able-bodied people about the many obstacles and challenges mobility impaired people face every day. The challenge required people to complete everyday tasks while being strapped in a wheelchair.

The Hollywoodbets Korsten team is grateful for this opportunity to have been able to help make a difference in people’s lives and eagerly look forward to future charity work.
